ABOUT BRAINCHILD
BUILT BY MIAMI.
Before Brainchild ever stood behind a pair of turntables, music was already woven into his life.

MADE THE SOUND
ORIGIN
HOUSE PARTIES. LOUD MUSIC. MIAMI.
Growing up in a large Hispanic family in Miami meant there was seemingly always something to celebrate. Birthdays, holidays and family gatherings revolved around food, drinks, dancing and loud music. An uncle would bring a DJ system to the parties, and when the night got late enough that he was more interested in dancing than DJing, Brainchild would watch his cousin take over the music.
At home, weekend cleaning meant his mother filling the house with salsa, disco, reggae, classic rock and soul. Grupo Niche, Oscar D’León, Carlos Santana, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson became part of his musical foundation. Miami filled in everything else: hip-hop, dancehall, freestyle, Miami bass, Latin music, pop and dance.

THE START
FROM LISTENING TO PLAYING.
At 16, an obsession with music turned into something more. Brainchild convinced his father to buy him his first DJ setup. Singing or rapping had never felt like his path, but DJing offered something different: a way to participate in music and culture while discovering, connecting and sharing the records he loved.
He became the DJ at his high school and soon found himself playing house parties, small clubs and lounges. What started as a way to stay close to music slowly became a career.
“DJING IS A TRANSFER OF ENERGY.”
BRAINCHILD
THE CRAFT
THE ROOM COMES FIRST.
Being an open-format DJ was never really a strategic decision. It was the natural result of growing up in Miami. Brainchild’s sets can move across decades, genres and cultures because that is how he learned to experience music in the first place.
For him, the job is reading the room: seeing who is moving, understanding what they may have grown up listening to, recognizing when a record connects and knowing where that reaction can lead next.
RADIO
FROM THE BOOTH TO THE AIR.
At 25, Brainchild played his first guest mix on what was then Evolution 93.5 FM in Miami. Guest mixes became a resident DJ role, which became production work, on-air talent, Music Director, Assistant Program Director and eventually Program Director before COVID.
Radio expanded his understanding of programming, audience behavior and music discovery. His Full Sail University background in Recording Arts adds another technical layer, but the foundation has remained the same: listen, learn and adapt.
